Our Story

Welcome to Lazy Dog Donuts, where passion meets flavor in every cup and every bite. Our story began with a simple dream: to create a family-owned business where the love for high-quality coffee, irresistible donuts, and delicious breakfast items comes together in perfect harmony.

Our dedicated team is committed to crafting each cup of coffee with care. Our donuts feature classic favorites and creative new flavors that are sure to satisfy any craving. But it’s not just about the food and drink; it’s about the experience. We’ve designed our space to be a warm and inviting place where you can unwind, catch up with friends, or enjoy a quiet moment with your favorite treat. Inside, you will find cozy chairs, coffeehouse music, and workspace tables. Outside in our beautiful lush courtyard, we have a sitting area surrounded by lawn games such as Corn Hole, Jenga, and Connect Four.

About Us

I have lived on the Treasure Coast since 1981, when my parents moved to the area from New York. After high school, I attended Florida Atlantic University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Reading. My 20-year career in education included being an elementary teacher in St. Lucie County, a literacy coach in Martin County, and an adjunct instructor at Florida Atlantic University. However, I always knew my dream was to own a coffee shop.

Lazy Dog Donuts opened in November 2022 in historic downtown Jensen Beach, Florida. My husband Matt and I purchased the business in June 2023. We are honored to be a part of the Jensen Beach Community and appreciate our supportive customer base. In 2023, TC Palm voters chose us as the Best Donut Shop on the Treasure Coast and we were voted one of the best donut shops in Florida by Guidetoflorida.com. We enjoy seeing our regular customers daily and meeting new customers in the area on vacation or locals visiting us for the first time.
